Obituary of James Edward Wilde

James Edward Wilde was born December 4, 1937 in Rochester, NY, the son of Homer and Madonna (Blake) Wilde, and passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the age of 79 years. On September 9, 1961, James was united in Holy Matrimony to Martha Ella Dean and they had three children. Jim enlisted in the United States Navy in 1957 and served 23 years on submarines and sub bases, before retiring in 1979. He relocated his family to Camdenton, Missouri, to retire and fish. He gave up retirement to teach Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning courses at the Lake Area Vocational & Technical Education Center until his second retirement in 2002. Jim was active in the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree Knight), as well as the United States Submarine Veterans group. He enjoyed fishing, US Revolutionary War History, telling sea stories, and sitting on his front deck, drinking a beer with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Jerry Schoeber; and his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Ruth Wilde. He leaves behind his wife, Marty; seven brothers and sisters and their spouses, Madonna Schoeber, Homer and Carol Wilde, Paul and Donna Wilde, Tim and Teresa Wilde, Maryann and Ralph Read, Sharon Wilde, and Kelly and Terrence Gilliam; his three children and their spouses, James and Nani Wilde, Michael and Tammy Wilde, and Diane Wilde; nine grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. An Irish Wake will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Camdenton, Missouri. All friends and family are invited. Visitation will be Monday, January 9, from 9:00-10:00 am with services beginning at 10:00 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Camdenton. Inurnment with Full Military Honors will be Monday, January 9, at 2:00 pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery- Ft. Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Missouri.
