Obituary of Edward L. Fishburn

Edward L. Fishburn, age 96, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Edward was born December 26, 1920 in Burlington, Iowa. He was the son of Marian and Marie (Bailey) Fishburn. He was united in marriage October 2, 1943 in Redondo Beach, California to Ruth Romo. They shared over 72 years of marriage at the time of Ruth's death on April 3, 2015. Edward served his country proudly in the US Coast Guard, and after his discharge, he later worked as a supervisor at the McDonnel Douglas Corporation which later merged with Boeing. After retirement he relocated to the Lake of the Ozarks where he and Ruth lived the remaining days of their lives. Edward had several hobbies and projects he enjoyed working on including helping the Shriner's club by working on their parade boats, working with metal, and working on small engines. He also enjoyed making washer games and hillbilly golf games for his friends. Edward is survived by his sons, James and wife, Cindy of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri and Jeff and wife, Angela, of Eldon, Missouri; his daughter Dianne Tucker and husband, Robert, of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Marian and Marie Fishburn; his wife Ruth; and his brother, James W. Fishburn. Services will be held at a later date.
