Obituary of Walter Stark

Walter Stark, age 96, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Laurie Care Center in Laurie , Missouri. Walter was born March 26, 1920 in Laude-Baden, Germany, the son of George and Paula (Vierneisel) Stark. His family moved to Chicago in 1926. On April 27, 1947, he was united in marriage to Norma Linhart in Chicago, Illinois. They shared nearly 70 wonderful years of marriage together. Walter served his country as a Sergeant with the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he pursued a career in the banking industry where he attained his position as Vice-President. Shortly after their marriage, Walter and Norma moved to Des Plaines, Illinois and in 1962, relocated again to Los Alamitos, California. In 1993, they moved for the final time to Camdenton, Missouri. Walter was an avid golfer and for family fun, enjoyed performing magic tricks for his nieces and nephews. Walter was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Walter is preceded in death by his parents George & Paula Stark; one daughter, Cathie Botello; one sister(Rose Ziegler; and one brother Hugo Stark. Walter is survived by his wife, Norma; one son, Larry Stark of Phoenix Arizona; one grandson Michael Botello (Jessi) of Overland Park Kansas; one granddaughter Gina Young (Justin) of Lafayette Georgia; and one great grandson Cedar Young; and several nieces & nephews. Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St Anthony’s Catholic Church Camdenton. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00-11:00 prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Hedges Cemetery in Camdenton, Missouri.
