Obituary of Gay Leon Ivey

Gay "Leon" Ivey, age 66, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Leon was born February 23, 1950 in San Francisco, California to Jeffrey Leonald Ivey and Colleen Anna Mae (Lowe) Ivey. Leon was an active member of the Navy from 1969 until 1973. He worked as a head chef in many restaurants and touched many lives. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family, watching his favorite shows and listening to music. He is survived by his mother, Colleen Ivey of Falls City, NE; his sons, Danny Ivey of St. Joseph, MO, John Jansen of Vallejo, CA, Dustin Ivey and wife, Sarah, of Osage Beach, MO, Dylan Ivey and wife, Vashti, of Jefferson City, MO, Donovan Ivey and fiance, Cassandra of Waynesville, MO; one daughter, Savannah Marchi of Fenton, MO; five brothers, Fred Ivey, Kurt Ivey, Paul Ivey, Bob Ivey, and Derrick Ivey; three sisters, Dana Denherder, Maggie Becker and Daphne Dehart; eight grandchildren, Dakotah, Reese, Wednesday, Graham, Ruby, Jude, Violet and Piper; one great grandchild, Aleksandra; and numerous other family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Ivey; and two brothers, Owen Ivey and Kevin Ivey. Services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 am at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. Inurnment and Military Honors will follow at Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Veterans Wall, Osage Beach, Missouri.
