Obituary of Rev.Albert H. Lindemann

Rev. Albert H. Lindemann, 103, died Friday, February 10, 2017 at Lakeside Meadows Nursing Home, Osage Beach. Rev.(Chaplain) Lindemann was born April 19,1913 in Cullman, Alabama. A few years later the family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, whre he attended the parochial school of First Lutheran congregation. Preparation for the ministry was begun at St. Paul's college, Concordia,Missouri, and was completed at Concordia Theological Seminary in 1936. Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, conferred the Master of Arts in History in 1946. Parish and missionary experience was gained by serving in various capacities in congregations in Cumberland, Maryland; St. Louis, Missouri; Belle Glade, Florida; and Hannibal, Missouri. In November 1942, Pastor Lindemann entered the military chaplaincy of the U.S. Army and served with our forces from New Guinea to Japan. In April 1947, he transferred to USAF chaplaincy and served continuously at stateside bases and overseas in Japan and Germany until retirement at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, on January 31, 1972. On July 28, 1940, Reverend Lindemann married the former Miss Viola Malone of St. Louis, Missouri who preceded Albert in death June 14, 1996. Survivors include four sons, Michael of Four Seasons, MO, Marty of Boston, MA, David of Scottsdale, AZ, Mark of Four Seasons, MO: seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Once asked what he attributed his long life to, he replied, “By the grace of my Lord, Jesus Christ!” Rev. Lindemann will be interred in Arlington Cemetery with his wife Viola at a later date.
