Obituary of Ruby Chapell Libby Creach

Ruby Chapell Libby Creach, daughter of Claude and Minnie Osborn was born September 24, 1916 in Roach, MO. She departed this life Monday, February 27 in her home, at the age of 100 years, five months and three days. Chapell was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Minnie Osborn; her husband, Wesley Libby; her husband, Ormal Creach; and brothers and sisters, “William” Floy Osborn, “James” Estel Osborn, Glibert LeRoy Osborn, Russell Estes Osborn, Audrey Blair. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Janet Libby, Osage Beach; Shawn (Mary) Libby, Linn Creek; Kim Howard, Linn Creek; Christian (Kerrington) Libby, Linn Creek; Derek Libby, Kansas City; Chelsi Libby, St. Louis; Sassha Howard, Linn Creek; Tristan Howard, Linn Creek; Paige Howard, Linn Creek; her great-great grandchildren Hayleigh Libby, Ryder Rembold and ViviAnne Libby; her brother Kenneth Osborn, Lebanon; her sister Ann Stewart, Springfield; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Chapell was saved in 1931 at a revival at the Macks Creek Baptist Church. She attended school in Macks Creek and Camdenton and graduated from Camdenton High School in 1933. She was united in marriage in 1935 to Wes Libby, and they shared 55 years together. In 1994, she was united in marriage to Ormal Creach. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years and held many offices. At the age of 45, Chapell attended the Sedalia School of Hairdressing and received her license. She opened the ChapLAnn Beauty shop just off the square in Camdenton. Chapell saw many changes in this area over her 100 years. She was in high school when the Lake of the Ozarks was being created. She saw and visited the castle at Ha Ha Tonka before and after it burned and she has enjoyed the views at Lover’s Leap since she was a teenager. Chapell loved her family dearly, but her joy was always in the little ones, most recently Hayleigh, Ryder and ViviAnne. She was a great cook and seamstress. Her smile, quick wit and her loving, servant’s heart will truly be missed. Services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at The Exchange Venue in Camdenton. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 am- 11:00 am prior to the service. Interment will be at the Roach Cemetery in Roach, Missouri.
