Obituary of Monty Leon Skinner

Monty Leon Skinner, age 54, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by family. Monty was born March 17, 1963 in Macks Creek, Missouri, the son of Leon and Beverly (Montgomery) Skinner. On August 5, 1989, in Camdenton, Missouri, Monty was united in marriage to Kay Stoner. They shared over 27 years together at the time of his death. Monty was saved at a young age and was a member of Mission Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. He knew the Lord, the word of God, and where he would spend his eternity. Monty worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation which he loved dearly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchild. He was a father to many children who were in and out of his home for many years. Monty was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, loving son, and a caring brother, neighbor and friend. He will be missed sorely by those who knew and loved him. Monty is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; his sons, Richard Eidson of Linn Creek, Logan Skinner and wife, Kendra, of Springfield; his daughters, Crissy Hufferd and husband, Rich, of Macks Creek and Charlee Skinner of Wheatland; his brothers, Darrin Skinner of Camdenton, and Jr Skinner of Macks Creek; and his sister Karen King of Hermitage; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild; his parents Leon and Beverly Skinner; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his Uncle Johnny. Services for Monty will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Macks Creek, Missouri. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00-11:00 am prior to services at the funeral home. Brother Gary Conway will officiate. Interment will be at Stanton Chapel Cemetery in Macks Creek, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus.
