Obituary of William Joseph Fleis

William Joseph "Bill" Fleis, 64, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at his home in Osage Beach. Bill was born January 28, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Robert and Margaret (Tiefenbrun) Fleis. On August 11, 2007, Bill was united in marriage to Anita McDowell. They shared 9 1/2 wonderful years together as husband and wife. Aside from his wife Anita, Bill is survived by two sons, Robert Fleis of Alton, Illinois and Jeffrey Stout and wife, Shila, of New Hudson, Michigan; two brothers, Pete Fleis of South County, Missouri and Steve Fleis and wife, Sharon, of Barnhart, Missouri; one sister, Jan Rutter and husband, Ron, of Climax Springs, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Kendrick and Annabelle Stout. He was also beloved Uncle Bill to several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Margaret Fleis. Bill owned and operated Design 9 Inc., a Civil Engineering firm in South County, St. Louis, Missouri. He was a member of the Railway Club of St. Louis, the National Railway Conference and AREMA of St. Louis. In his spare time, he enjoyed days when he could go boating, work in his yard, or go walking outdoors. He especially enjoyed days he could spend with his grandchildren. Bill attended The Church at Osage Hills in Osage Beach, Missouri. Bill had a heart and passion for feeding the hungry and had been involved in various organizations including The Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri. A visitation will be held Friday, April 14, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, April 15, at The Church at Osage Hills in Osage Beach. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Kaiser, Missouri.
