Obituary of Richard Alan Smith

Richard "Rick" Alan Smith was born on August 29, 1957, the son of Doyle and Mary McClellan near St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this world on March 22, 2017 at Regional Medical Center-Bayonet Point in Hudson, Florida at the age of 59. Rick was raised in the O'Fallon, Missouri area. He attended the Fort Zumwalt School. He worked for Ambassador Flooring. Rick enjoyed spending his days fishing, bowling, and playing golf. Rick was a loving husband, father, grandpa, son-in-law, brother, uncle, nephew, neighbor, and friend. Rick and Tara were married on January 19, 2013. They made their home in Greenview, Missouri. In June of 2013 they relocated to New Port Richey, Florida. They quickly made a countless number of friends who were more like family. Rick and Tara were both baptized members of the Salvation Saloon. They were very active in their congregation. They took pride in serving meals to the homeless on a regular basis. They enjoyed visiting the beach, dining at new places, and riding their Harley with their brother, Bob. They shared a once-in-a-lifetime love and were blessed to have found each other. Rick and Tara are survived by one son, Cody Williams and partner Kinsey; one daughter, Hannah Williams; Tara's parents, Tom and Jane Wolfe; four brothers and three sisters-in-law; Robert Smith of New Port Richey, FL, Tom and Rhonda Wolfe, John and Jill Wolfe, Josh and Brooke Wolfe; one sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Cline, all of Climax Springs, Missouri; two grandsons, Ryder and Layton; nine nieces and nephews; two great nephews; a step grandmother, Ruth "Crickett" Wolfe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. They were preceded in death by Rick's parents, Doyle and Mary McClellan, and their grandparents. We encourage all who loved Rick and Tara to Donate Life. A Celebration of Rick and Tara's Lives will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Climax Springs Civic Center in Climax Springs, Missouri. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to services.
