Obituary of William Wendell Patterson
William Wendell Patterson, age 84, of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born June 17, 1932 in Ulman, Missouri, the son of the late James and Ruth (Graves) Patterson. Wendell married Theresa Angela Freda on February 27, 1954. They were married for over 44 years before her death in 1998. On March 23, 2001, he was remarried to Freda Farris, who survives of the home.
Wendell was a veteran of the Korean War. After his return home, he worked as a farmer, carpenter, and worked on the Alaskan pipeline for several years. He also worked as a truck driver for Graves Trucking, drove a school bus for Miller County RIII, and served as Second District Commissioner in 1991 and 1992. Wendell attended the First Christian Church in Richland.
He is survived by three sons; Michael Patterson of Osage Beach, Dean Patterson and wife Pam of Sublette, Kansas, and Gene Patterson and wife, Susan of Wardsville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Elsie Yates of Osage Beach, Warren Patterson of Tuscumbia, Donald Patterson of Ulman, Marvin Patterson of Ulman and Carolyn Pryor of Wildwood.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, James, Babe, Bob, Maurice, and Harold Patterson.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 28 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach. A graveside burial with family will be held at a later date.
