Obituary of Clyde Edward Hegelund

Clyde Edward Hegelund, age 68, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at his residence in Osage Beach. 

Clyde was born March 24, 1949 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He was the son of Jacques and Shirley Hegelund. 

On December 23, 1971 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,  Clyde was united in marriage to Barbara Rieck.  They were married over 45 years at the time of his death. 

Clyde is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; his sister and brother-in-law Joan and Walter Teague; two sisters-in-law, Carol Zenda and Lorraine Rieck; nieces and nephews. 

Clyde's working career was in the railroading industry. This work took Clyde and Barb from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Omaha, Nebraska, Green Valley, Illinois, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, Maple Grove, Minnesota and Princeton, Minnesota.   Clyde worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in maintenance-of-way.  He then worked for Loram Maintenance of Way and retired as the Rail Grinding Division Manager. 

After retiring, in 1998, Clyde and Barb moved to the Lake of the Ozarks.  Clyde worked in the golf department at Tan-Tar-A.  For many years you could see him as starter/ranger every Saturday on the first tee at The Oaks.  He also did consulting work for Total Environmental Services and Missouri Water Association Inc. 

Clyde enjoyed skiing, fishing, boating and of course, golf.  On August 13, 2012, Clyde became a member of the hole-in-one club at Hole #15 at Eldon Country Club. 

Clyde was a very loving and devoted husband. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all. 

A Celebration of Clyde's Life will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 pm at The Oaks at Tan-Tar-A, Osage Beach, Missouri.
