Margie Ann Neal of Linn Creek passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2017. Wife of the deceased Dr. Joe K. Neal, she was born in Harrisburg, Illinois in 1942, attended University of Illinois in Champagne-Urbana and earned a Master’s Degree in Sociology. Margie married Joe Neal and made her way to St. Louis and then Union, Missouri before settling in at the lake. Margie was a 40-year resident of the lake area.

Margie and Joe Neal were married for 40 years.  They had three children: Tony Neal, Erica Neal Boardman, and Elliott Neal. She was the grandmother of Gracie Neal and Bryce and Sydney Boardman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joe K. Neal.

Her first 20 years at the lake, Margie was a weekend vacationer and wife of an avid fisherman in Osage Beach. Her children spent most weekends and summers of their childhood in their lake house sharing favorite memories with Margie swimming off their dock, boating, skiing, fishing and jet-skiing.

In the following 10 years she and her husband, Dr. Joe Neal, relocated permanently from Union, MO and lived in Camdenton. There they finished raising raised their youngest child, Elliott Neal. Margie ran her husband’s dental practice, Joe K. Neal Family Dentistry, in Lebanon, Missouri. In her spare time, Margie was a busy piano teacher to many children in Camdenton and an active member and volunteer of her church, St. Anthony’s Parish.

Margie and Joe moved into a new house in Linn Creek in 2004.  Her husband passed away in April of 2005.After becoming a widow, Margie remained active in her church. She volunteered at Lake Regional Hospital and was a long-standing member of the Republican Club and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

In 2013, Margie moved from the lake to Las Vegas, Nevada to be nearer to her daughter and grandchildren, Bryce and Sydney. She enjoyed the warmer winters, ability to walk to shopping, great restaurants, and the entertainment the city had to offer. Margie loved talking with friends, gardening, and the Catholic Church, but most of all she loved her family. She will be remembered by all that knew her for her generous and vivacious spirit.
