Obituary of Percy Burton Revels, Jr.

Percy Burton Revels Jr., (Burt), age 82, of Camdenton Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 19th in his home in Camdenton Missouri, after a long illness.

Burt was born on July 8th, 1934 in Palatka Florida. He was the son of Judge Percy Burton Revels Sr. and Bernice Revels.

On February 16th 1957, Burt was united in marriage to Dianne Lee Smith of Marianna Florida. This past February was their 60th wedding anniversary.

Burt was an Army Second Lieutenant commissioned while serving in the ROTC program in college and stationed at a Nike Missile base near Washington DC after graduating. Burt earned his degree in building construction from the University of Florida in 1956 and went on to a career managing housing developments for National Homes Corporation in New York, Texas, Ohio and Illinois. In the early 70s Burt started his own company: Seasons 4 Builders in Gaylord, Michigan building over 250 homes in northern Michigan between 1972 and 1982.
In the 80s and 90s Burt worked for Cardinal Industries and Choice Hotels buying land for hotel development throughout the Midwest. Burt and Dianne retired to Camdenton Missouri in 2000.

Burt had a life-long love of Florida Gator Football and music. He sang in the Men’s Glee Club at the University of Florida and many church choirs over the years. Burt also enjoyed traveling, boating and snow skiing with his family.

Burt is survived by his wife, Dianne in Camdenton, his son, Eric and wife Pamela of Chicago Illinois, daughter, Leanne Fisher and husband Mike Fisher of Boulder Colorado, five grand children and one great grandson.

His father, Percy Burton Senior, mother, Bernice and sister Joan Gaines preceded Burt in death.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am , Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Camdenton Community Christian Church in Camdenton.
