Obituary of Eileen Stephenson

Eileen Stephenson, age 90, of McHenry, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her residence.

Eileen was born April 12, 1926 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to Wayman and Leona (Schumacher) Stephens. 

Eileen enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking for her family, and raising her children.  She loved entertaining, often hosting parties with live bands. Other enjoyments included, boating on the Illinois River, and camping even when the children were very young.  Eileen was an avid swimmer, and loved water aerobics. She also traveled all over the U.S. and Mexico in her R.V.

Eileen was very active and volunteered with the Illinois P.T.A. District 34.  She was a former resident of Osage Beach, Missouri and Princeton, Illinois. Eileen volunteered with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary for the local hospitals in Osage Beach and Princeton. 

Eileen is survived by five children, David (Cathy) Stephenson, Richard (Paula) Stephenson, Scott (Theresa) Stephenson, Melody (Hank) Boswell, Valerie (Brian) Beauban; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor “Duffy” Stephens. 

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Loren, and her sister Jean. 

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 pm,  at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri.
