Obituary of Rene Michael DelMotte

Rene Michael “Mike” DelMotte, age 70 of Camdenton, Mo. passed away peacefully at home Monday, July 3.  He left this world surrounded by friends and family who loved and respected him.  Mike was born on March 6, 1947 in Independence, Mo. to Rene B. DelMotte and Mary Morris.

 Mike was married on December 6, 1975 to Kay Heimbeaugh in Linn Creek, Mo. and shared 41 years of marriage until his death.

 He was a US army veteran that served in the Vietnam era.  Mike was a member of the VFW Post 5923. 

He had moved to the lake area in 1973 and started working in construction.  He eventually went into business for himself with some co workers.  He was a craftsman with integrity that took pride in his work and was widely respected in the area.  Mike loved baseball and coached his son until school baseball took over.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved to watch and talk baseball.  “PaPa Mike” as he was widely known as, was an inspiration and great friend to a wide group of people of all ages. 

 His family was everything to him.

 He was preceded in death by his father and mother and two brothers.

 Mike is survived by his wife, Kay of the home; two children; daughter Melissa Trigg and a son Mike “Mikey” and wife Wendy; one brother; Rob Brady and wife Linda; four grandchildren; Bradley Trigg, Michael Allen DelMotte, Seth Caby-DelMotte, and Sadie DelMotte; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

 Memorial donations may be made to Lake Regional Cancer Center in Mike’s name.

 Services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.   The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00-4:00 pm at the funeral home.

 Inurnment will be at Hedges Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri.
