Obituary of Larry Ray Allman

Larry Ray Allman, 62, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri following injuries from a bicycle accident.

Larry was the son of John and Willa (Mueller) Allman, born December 28, 1954, in Ulysses, Kansas.

On January 3, 1981 in Lake Ozark, Missouri, Larry was united in marriage to Marla DeGraffenreid.  They had shared over 36 loving years of marriage together at the time of his death.

Larry accepted Christ as a boy and rededicated his life in college.  He was greeted in Heaven with “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

Larry was a teacher for 36 years, the last 23 of which were at Camdenton High School.  Over the years he taught several courses including industrial technology, health, P.E., and drivers’ education, sharing his knowledge and earning respect from countless students and faculty.  He was a generous man, involved in serving others, coaching the Camdenton Trap Club, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and former Youth Leader at Riverview Baptist Church where he was an active member, and donating blood to the American Red Cross on a consistent basis.  He was a boys’ basketball coach for 10 years at Cameron High School but later chose to give up the official title to assist with his daughters’ sports teams. Larry was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, beekeeping, and was a cycling enthusiast, riding in the MS 150 every year.  He also enjoyed planting fruit trees, gardening, and working around the farm on Bear Creek with his father-in-law, T.A.

Larry was a loving and devoted husband, Daddy, Papa, and a caring son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.  He will be missed beyond words.

Larry is survived by his wife Marla of the home; his daughters, Erin Steck and husband, Matthew, of St. Charles, Missouri, Abby Harmon and husband, Marcus, of Ozark, Missouri, and Tara Mueller and husband, Robbie, of Springfield, Missouri; his father John Allman, of Osage Beach, Missouri; his mother, Willa Allman of Ft.
