Obituary of Norma Jean Bretz

Norma Jean Bretz, age 85, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Norma was born July 18, 1932 in LaHarpe, Illinois. She was the daughter of Harold and Edna (Tucker) Minor.

On April 26, 1961, Norma was united in marriage to Bruce Bretz. They shared 55 years of marriage together at the time of Bruce’s death.

Norma was a deacon and active member of Lake Presbyterian Church of Osage Beach, Missouri. Some of the things she thoroughly enjoyed were dancing, painting, listening to her favorite music, and water skiing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Norma is survived by her son Mike Gottman and wife Cindy of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter Cathryn Steingrubey and husband Fran of Osage Beach, Missouri; sister Beverly Baines and husband Donald of Roach, Missouri; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edna (Tucker) Minor, and her husband, Bruce Bretz.
