Obituary of Robert Wayne Banner
Robert Wayne "Crazy Bob" Banner, 87, was born May 3, 1930 in Stover, Missouri to John E. and Mae E. (Newman) Banner. He passed away at his home in Macks Creek, Missouri, Friday, August 25, 2017.
Robert lived in the Camdenton area most of his childhood, and again after his retirement. His adult life, he lived in Sedalia, Missouri working for the family trucking business and in later years he drove an 18 wheeler over the road for several different trucking companies, including Waller Truck Line, Pepsi, and JB Hunt. After his retirement he moved to Macks Creek, Missouri where he made his home.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Simpkin Banner; his parents John and Mae Banner; his sister Patsy Ruth Banner; his son Timothy Lynn Banner; his brother-in-law H.E. Blake; and his nephew Lyle Banner.
He is survived by two sons, James Robert (Jim) Banner of Independence, Missouri and Thomas Lee Banner of Macks Creek, Missouri; one daughter Roberta Jean Banner Rooffener of Richland, Missouri; two brothers Glenn "Buck" Banner and wife, Betty, of Sedalia, Missouri and Onlee Banner and wife, Wanda, of Harrisonville, Missouri; one sister Peggy L Banner Blake of Lake Havasue, Arizona; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; along with many, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Services with Military Honors will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, August 31, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Macks Creek, Missouri. The family welcomes friends for visitation from 2:00-4:00 pm prior to services at the church. Dinner/Potluck to follow; please bring a covered dish.
