Obituary of Joseph Daniel Elia

Joseph Daniel Elia, age 74, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Joseph was born on September 29, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Daniel and Florence (Trimarco) Elia.

On November 4, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, Joseph was united in marriage to Diane Loisi. They shared 56 years of marriage together at the time of his death.

Joseph owned and operated  a local marine  here at Lake of the Ozarks and was a collector of many things. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed anything having to do with cars. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Joseph is survived by his wife Diane Elia (Loisi) of the home; son Michael Elia and wife Sheryl of Lake Ozark, Missouri; son Joseph Elia and wife Lisa of Lemont, Illinois; brother Daniel Elia of Darien, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Alex, Mikayla, Samantha, and Nicholas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Florence (Trimarco) Elia.

The family will welcome friends and family for visitation on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 3-9 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home in Darien, Illinois. The service will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:00, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Darien, Illinois.

Interment will be at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.

Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Cancer Center.
