Obituary of Gregory Earl Shearer

Gregory “Greg” Earl Shearer, age 56, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his home.

Greg was born on October 7, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Earl and Minnie Katheryn (Wilson) Shearer.

On September 14, 1985 in the Fern Grotto on Kauai island, Hawaii, Greg was united in marriage to Kathryn Rachaner. They shared 32 years of marriage together at the time of his death.

Greg worked as a carpenter for many years specializing in cabinetry. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, working on his vehicles, and watching sci-fi movies. Cooking for his family and spending time with them brought him the greatest joy.

Greg is survived by his wife Kathryn of the home; daughter Madison Shearer of Eldon, Missouri; daughter Haley Shearer of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; daughter Sydney Shearer, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; daughter Darby Shearer of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; brother Harry Steven Shearer and wife Lori of United, Pennsylvania; sister Kim Shearer Miller and husband Jim of Raymore, Missouri; sister Amy Shearer of Kansas City, Missouri along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Katie Shearer.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at Paradise Restaurant in Sunrise Beach, MO Tuesday September 5, 2017 starting at 3:00 pm until at least 6:00 pm.  Please instead of flowers or material items, please feel free to make donations to scholarship fund setup for Sydney and Darby Shearer at Central Bank Lake of the Ozarks, Laurie, MO
