Obituary of James Alvin Mitchell

James Alvin Mitchell, age 74, of Montreal, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his home.

James was born June 20, 1943 in Fresno, California. He was the son of Freeman and Margaret (Murphy) Mitchell.

On November 4, 1961 in Fresno, California, James was united in marriage to Rita Meuel. They shared 56 years of marriage together at the time of his death.

James operated his own business as a welder and worked well with all things mechanical. He enjoyed race cars and even participated in racing. He also had a love for travel, animals and spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys was always being able to help others.

James is survived by his wife Rita of the home; his son Jim Mitchell Jr. and wife Jackie of Delores, Colorado; his son J.D. Mitchell and wife Trisha of Linn Creek, Missouri; four grandchildren, Chad, Kelly, Bruce and Rusty; and 9 great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents Freeman and Margaret Mitchell.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
