Obituary of Ruby Short

Ruby Short, age 96, of Osage Beach, Missouri passed away  Monday, October 9, 2017 at Ozark Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri.

Ruby was born  July 23, 1921 in Farmington, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles and Lila (Mills) Hudson.

Ruby moved to St. Louis with her family as a young child and prior to World War II she met and married Richard Short, who preceded her in death November 17, 2006.

Ruby  was a devoted wife and helpmate to her husband Richard and a loving mother to her son. She and Richard fell in love with the Lake of the Ozarks after visiting, and they retired to the area in 1970. Ruby loved everything about the lake and in her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers.

Ruby was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach, Missouri.

She is survived by her son Don Short and wife, Marletta, of Osage Beach, Missouri.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Richard, three sisters,  and one brother.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Veterans Wall, at Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Osage Beach, Missouri.
