Obituary of May Jacobs

May Jacobs, age 92, of Osage Beach, Missouri passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, Missouri.

May was born on December 17, 1924 in Leaf River, Illinois. She was the daughter of Simon and Elsie (Pauls) Jacobs.

She grew up on the family farm in Leaf River, Illinois. Later, she moved to Aurora, Illinois and eventually to Lake Ozark, Missouri. May worked at stocking shelves for the Goodwill.  Some of her favorite past-times were riding horses with her sister Marian, collecting stuffed animals and shopping for jewelry and watches at Wal-Mart or Target. She had a great love and appreciation for animals of all kinds. Some of her greatest memories were of her horse named “Orange”, her dog “Tippy” and her parakeets. Above all, her greatest love and joy was spending time with her family.

May is survived by her sister Marian Staffy of Osage Beach, Missouri and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Simon and Elsie Jacobs; her brothers Donald Jacobs and Mervele Jacobs; and her sisters Pearl Jacobs and Elsie Gaul.

The family will welcome friends for visitation on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Osage Beach, Missouri. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Memorial Gardens, Osage Beach, Missouri.
