I was very sad to hear of Ron's passing.
Ron and his brother Gordon and I were high school friends who spent many delightful (and irresponsible) evenings together doing what high school teenagers did. We all also worked together at Walgreen's Drug Store in Sioux City, IA during high school. I have always remembered and cherished those times.
I had the pleasure of time together in 2016 with Ron and Bobbi on their stop here in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, during a river cruise vacation.
Seeing Ron at the Central High School Reunion in August 2017 was a joy mixed, however, with sadness at the news of his cancer diagnosis.
I thank the Lord for having had friends such as Ron in my life.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Ron, your husband , dad and grandpa. I worked with him in ob at Winneshiek when he practiced in Decorah. He was an excellent CRNA. He loved to tell stories and could make you laugh to tears. His laugh was one of a kind. He will be missed by many ! I am sure he was a wonderful grandpa!

I will miss Ron very much. our lives are somewhat parallel, I too am 68 and a Viet Nam Vet Married 44 yrs and anesthesia for over 35 yrs. we love our families and know they are the ones missing Ron the most. our comfort comes in the knowledge that Ron is in a better place without pain or suffering and among friends. Though your name was not Ronaldo nor was mine Wendolyn that is how we new each other. That is how we would greet each other every day at work. Your joke telling was impeccable and I personally will always remember that boisterous laugh that could be heard throughout the entire department after you would tell one of your mostly inappropriate, but still hilarious, jokes. You knew that I was not a hugger but after your retirement every time you would stop by to see us you would always give me a hug. Wish I could have one more of those gigantic bear hugs and hear one more of your jokes. You will be missed Ronaldo! Respectfully yours, Wendolyn

Dear Bobbi, David & Laurie,
Ron and I met working in the surgery department at CRMC. He is a special friend and co-worker who I miss very much.
I enjoyed Ron's positive attitude and lightness of spirit that reflected in everything I and our other co-workers experienced with him. A true gentleman with a wonderful of sense of humor (sometimes a bit wicked) that I cherished in knowing him.
So sorry for your family's loss.
Prayers of comfort and peace,
Greg Weaver

My deepest condolences to Ronnie’s family and friends! I grew up on the Westside of Sioux City with my backyard and Ron’s facing each other. We spend a lot of hours hanging out and doing things young teenagers do. Ronnie was the anesthesia nurse for the c-section birth of my youngest son. Ronnie and Gordy were great guys and there Mom Marianne gave me a many a sound advice in my early years. I am so sorry for your loss!
