Obituary of Martin L. Bagby

Martin “Pat” L. Bagby passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his children, after battling a short illness.

Pat was born in Edwardsville, Illinois on March 17, 1934.  He was the son of Irvin and Bess (Eihauser) Bagby.

On May 19, 1962, he was joined in marriage to Josephine “Jo” Regna. They enjoyed over 50 wonderful years of marriage together at the time of her death.

Pat graduated from Edwardsville High School. He owned and operated Edwardsville Implement before moving his family to Osage Beach, Missouri. Pat was an active volunteer for numerous area organizations and had a great love for his community. He was a volunteer firefighter, Cub Scout leader and a long-time member of the Lions Club, in which he served in many leadership positions. Pat left this world with the same strength, courage and dignity with which he lived his life. He was a loving father, husband and grandfather.

Pat is survived by his son Kevin Bagby and wife Karen; his daughter Kim Palomo and husband Al; three grandsons, Taylor Palomo and wife Jenn, Alex Palomo, and Brendan Bagby; four brothers-in-law, Don Widner, Tony Regna and wife Delores of Edwardsville, Illinois, Michael Regna and wife Jacki of Edwardsville, Illinois, and Phillip Regna and wife Betty of Milton, Florida; one sister-in-law Claudette Hess and husband Clem of Edwardsville, Illinois; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great friends all of whom he welcomed as family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jo Bagby, his parents Irvin and Bess Bagby, his sister Marilyn Widner and one grandson, Christopher Louis Bagby.

Services our under the direction of Weber and Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville, Illinois. A private burial is planned in Edwardsville as well.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to an organization of your choosing.

Local arrangements have been placed under the care of Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
