Obituary of Raymond Lee Bond

Raymond Lee “Ray” Bond, age 91, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Miller County Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Tuscumbia, Missouri.

Ray was born February 23, 1926 in Eldon, Missouri. He was the son of Dan W. and Viola Cunningham Bond.

On May 5, 1947 in Wapato, Washington, Ray was united in marriage to Mary Maxine Anderson and together they had shared over 70 years as husband and wife.

Ray was a lifelong resident of the Eldon community. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and after his honorable discharge, he was self-employed as a carpenter and farmer. Ray was an independent, hardworking man. When he wasn’t hard at work, Ray enjoyed spending days outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening and tending to his farm. Ray was a member of the American Legion Post in Eldon.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Mary Maxine; his sons Dennis Ray Bond and wife, Jennifer, of Columbia, Missouri and Ward Bond and wife, Sandra, of Lake Ozark, Missouri; his brother Lyle Bond and wife, Helen, of Washington; his sisters, Corrine Hawken and Opal Schupp, both of Eldon; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Viola Cunningham Bond; five brothers; and four sisters.

Services for Ray will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Osage Beach, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 12:00 noon-1:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.

Inurnment will follow at Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Veterans Wall, Osage Beach, Missouri.
