Obituary of Elinor E. Vitacek

Elinor E. Vitacek, age 97, of Camdenton, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Windsor Estates in Camdenton.

She was born on September 25, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri. Elinor was the daughter of John and Ella(Kerth) Kornfeld. She was the youngest of three children.

 In her early years, she lived in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated Cleveland High School. Elinor also attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She worked as a secretary and loved everything about music. Elinor enjoyed singing, playing piano, organ, steel guitar and violin.

On April 25, 1945, Elinor was united in marriage to John W. Vitacek, a World War II veteran.

Elinor was a dedicated homemaker for many years. She was also a member of the VFW Post 299. Elinor bowled in several leagues and square danced with the Merry Mixers. She had many hobbies, such as painting, wood carving, reading and crocheting.

Elinor is survived by her husband John; her son Lawrence(Larry) Vitacek and wife Barbara of Edwards, Missouri; grandchildren Leslie and husband James, Stacy and husband Dave; great grandchildren Lauren and Tyler and great-great grandchildren Harrison and Ben.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella Kornfeld; daughter Terry Berry and husband Roy and Matt Vitacek.

Service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends prior to service at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hedges-Scott Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri.
