Obituary of Judith Ann Carlson
Judith Ann Higgins Carlson of Camdenton, Missouri was born September 2, 1939 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of James and Lola (Swift) Higgins. As a young child, the family moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa where she was raised and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1957 and then attended 1 ½ years of college. In 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Michael Carlson at the First Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. After her husband graduated from college, his employment required the family to live in many areas. After quite a few years in St. Louis, Missouri they retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1996, where they enjoyed many wonderful hours at their lake house with family and friends. Eight years ago, they moved off the lake and into town where they have resided since.
Judy enjoyed life to the fullest. Her faith carried her through many obstacles, the main being her health. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed reading, spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren, and her greatest pleasure and accomplishment was putting together family genealogy books for her family, a hobby she enjoyed for years. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Greenview, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Michael of the home; sons, Shawn Carlson and wife Michelle of Pasadena, Texas and Andrew Carlson of Houston, Texas; Timothy Carlson of Lake Ozark, Missouri and children, Hayden and Hannah Carlson; daughter Rebecca Pylipow and husband Ken of Valparaiso, Indiana and their children Ryan of Chicago, Illinois and Brandon Pylipow of Hillsboro, Oregon; three sisters, Jane Stewart of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Jean Schleisman and husband Ted of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; four brothers, Jerry Higgins and wife Barb of Solan, Iowa, Richard Higgins of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Tom Higgins and wife Frankie of Bothel, Washington, and C.B. Higgins and wife Sheryl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, a brother, a sister and three nieces.
