Obituary of Evlyn Jean Thompson (Gilliland)

Evlyn Jean Thompson (Gilliland), age 80, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Ozark Rehabilitation and Health Care in Osage Beach, Missouri.  Evlyn was born March 10, 1937 to Harold Gilliand Thompson and Esta (Plumb) Thompson.

Evlyn gave her life to Jesus in her late 20s and shared God's Holy Grace with her children their whole lives. Evlyn enjoyed going to church and serving as pastors wife for 30 years. She enjoyed crocheting, singing, sewing, reading, painting, drawing and giving love and time to her family. 

Surviving are her children:

 her son Frank Lurten and wife Evie and their children- daughter Jessica, son Frank, daughter Jaimi, daughter Alana and many grandchildren;

her daughter Bea Jeffra Brack and husband Paul Brack and their children- daughter Rachel, son Timothy and wife Maria Brack, and daughter Laurel;

her son Sidny Lurten and wife Audrey and their children- son Travis and wife Candy, daughter Amanda and husband Frank Wood,  son Jordan and wife Lisa,  daughter Rebecca and husband Wayne Manchester, and many grandchildren; 

her son Russell Lurten and wife Theresa and their children- daughter Corrina,  son Jesse, and daughter Safra; 

 her son Paul Lurten and wife Taesha and their children- son Jonathan, daughter Aydin,  daughter Haley  and son Leeym; 

her daughter Andrea Whittaker Cheek and children-- daughter Michele and husband Kerry Hobbs, daughter Ashley Haney, and son Daniel Whittaker, and many grandchildren, 

 her daughter Linda and husband Darin Taylor and their children- son Jeremiah, son Joshua and wife Heather, son Zachariah, son John and wife Santana and many grandchildren; 

her daughter Glenda and husband Wade Scurlock and their children- daughter Jenella  and husband Dwayne Kellmer,  son Michael Maggard and wife Maddie, son Tim Maggard and wife Kellie, daughters, Cara and Brittany Scurlock  and many grandchildren. 

Also surviving are siblings, Hazel Reaves, John Paul Thompson, Doris Melendez, Waneta Sitz, Virginia Murray, Charlotte Buerge, Steven Thompson, and Phylis Blowers. 

She was preceded in death by her siblings Helen Tobin, James Raven, Barbara Thomas and Charles Thompson. 

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Fairview Butcher Cemetery in Gerster, Missouri.
