Obituary of John E. Jenkins

John E. Jenkins, age 85, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Monday,  January 8, 2018 at his home in Lake Ozark.

John was born May 27, 1932 in Lexington, Missouri. He was the son of John E. Jenkins and Ellen (Grechus) Jenkins.

On May 12, 1973 in Kelso, Missouri, John was united in marriage to Patricia Schlosser. They had shared 44 years together at the time of his death.

John retired from a long spanning career with insurance sales.  He truly enjoyed living the lake life and loved spending his days outdoors fishing on the lake.  He also enjoyed listening to country music and watching old western movies on television.  John served as Commissioner for the Horseshoe Bend Road District for many years and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri.

John is survived by  his children, John David Jenkins and wife, Jolene of Newton, Iowa, Brenda Lee Kautz and husband, Ed, of Morrison, Colorado,  James “Curt” Jenkins of Warrensburg, Missouri,  Joel Tracy Jenkins and wife, Kay, of Littleton, Colorado, and Jill Erica McIntosh of Columbia, Missouri; his brother Robert “Bob” Jenkins of Lexington, Missouri and sister Sharron Heathman and husband, Slick of Lexington, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Riley, Katie, Jason, Carrie, Jake, James, Jessie,  Garrett, and Grace; and five great-grandchildren Cameron, Josie, Bryce, Henry and Emmett.

John was preceded in death by his parents John E. and Ellen Jenkins.

Services will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to services at the church.

Memorial donations are suggested to the family to be used for the beautification of Horseshoe Bend Parkway.
