Obituary of Larry Russel Vance

Larry Russel “Splinter” Vance, age 60, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at his home.

Larry was born on November 15, 1957 in California. He was the son of Edward and Darline Musgrave.

On April 26, 1996 Larry was united in marriage to Denise Hearns. They shared 24 loving years together at the time of his death.

He worked as a roofer for most of his life and was a man of the outdoors. Larry could always be found at the lake with a pole in his hand or in the woods with a crossbow doing what he loved. He was never shy to lend a helping hand to those who needed it, crack a joke to those who were sad, or share a drink to keep the good times going. Larry was a man who loved the simple things, loved making memories, and loved his family most of all. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Larry is survived by his wife Denise; his son Justin Vance and wife Tara, and grandchildren Jordan, Ireland, and Elijah of Bend, Oregon; his daughter Candice Vance and fiance Nick of Saint Charles, Missouri; his daughter Cassidy Hickerson and husband Austin of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; his son Conner Vance of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; his parents Edward and Darline Musgrave of Lebanon, Missouri; his brother Randy Vance of Eldon, Missouri; his brother Brad Vance and wife Sharron of Lebanon, Missouri; his brother Brent Vance and wife Gale of Lebanon, Missouri; his brother David Vance and wife Randa of Lebanon, Missouri; his brother Edward Musgrave and wife Christy of Kansas City, Missouri, along with many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his brother James Vance.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
