Leslie Woodall

Obituary of Leslie Lee Woodall

Leslie Lee Woodall, age 84, of Macks Creek, Missouri, formerly of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018.

Leslie was the son of Onie and Mayme Moulder Woodall, born November 8, 1933 in the family room of the home he would later purchase, and spend his final day.

On September 6, 1959 in Macks Creek, Missouri, Leslie was united in marriage to Roberta Rice. Together they shared 58 loving years together as husband and wife.

Leslie served his country proudly as a First Class Fire Control Technician in the United States Navy from 1953 through 1957. Leslie served on the USS Saratoga Super Carrier during the Korean War.  After his honorable discharge, Leslie enrolled at the University of Missouri and graduated in 1961 with a BS Electrical Engineering degree.  He retired as a professional engineer as Executive Vice President from Smith & Boucher Inc, Consulting Engineers.  He returned to the farm in 1989.

Leslie was an avid hunter, missing only two deer seasons; once while serving in the Navy and once while living and working in Hawaii. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, bird hunting, turkey hunting, and growing beautiful gardens.  He absolutely loved the woods surrounding his property and enjoyed spending time exploring its beauty.  Leslie was a race car fan and enjoyed watching the Indianapolis 500 or attending the races at Wheatland.

Leslie was an active member of First Baptist Church Macks Creek where he served as Sunday School Secretary.  He proudly served on the Macks Creek Alumni Scholarship Board for many years and was a founding member of the Macks Creek Park Board.

Leslie was a loving and devoted husband and father and a loving grandpa and great grandpa. He had a large extended family he loved and many wonderful friends throughout his life.  He loved and cherished his grandkids more than anything.

Leslie is survived by his wife Roberta; his children Sheryl & Ed Gillmore of Taos, Missouri, Brenda & Gregg Mattoon of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Joyce & Howard Syler of Salisbury, Missouri; his brother Lynn & Becky Woodall of Springfield, Missouri; his grandchildren, Breylee& Cody Evers, Kylee Mattoon, Tyler & Katie Mattoon, Aly & Drew Dixon, Tiara Syler, Samuel Syler, Shane Gillmore, and Dodge Syler; his great grandchildren, Zilphia Evers, Charleigh Evers, and Colt Evers.
