Obituary of James Raymond Shivers
James Raymond "Jim" Shivers, age 73, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Ozark Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Jim was born August 27, 1944 on the family farm near Russellville, Missouri. He was the son of Delmar and Bertha (Percival) Shivers.
On June 11, 1994, Jim was united in marriage to Debbie Taylor, in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Jim served in the US Navy from June 1962 through August 1965 as an Avionic Electronics Technician. He served at Bien Hoa Air Base and in the Gulf of Tonkin on the USS Hancock Aircraft Carrier.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Jim went on to a career in telecommunications, installing and engineering. He and his wife worked together from 1985 until his retirement due to medical issues in 2010. Jim loved the outdoors, especially camping and canoeing and that love was shared by his wife and daughter.
Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie and daughter, Jaimee, of Lake Ozark, Missouri; and his brother Steve and wife Libby of Jefferson City, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father Delmar, his mother Bertha and his brother LeRoy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom Cemetery
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Freedom Cemetery in Linn Creek, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will follow Graveside Services at Four Seasons POA Community Center, 36 Vintage Landing Drive, Four Seasons, MO 65049
