Obituary of Rosa Lee Phillips

Rosa Lee Phillips, 97, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care in Osage Beach, Missouri.

 

Rosa Lee was born January 22, 1921 in Phillipsburg, Missouri. She was the daughter of Martin "Toby"  and Josephine "Josie" (Kissee) Biggs.

 

On March 9, 1940 Rosa Lee married Norman Phillips, who preceded her in death May 25, 1997. 

 

Rosa Lee and Norman owned and operated several businesses in the Camdenton area, including several restaurants, one of which was located inside Lake Plaza Hotel on the Camdenton Square, which is now home to Ozarkland.  During the time they operated the restaurants, they catered to the meetings of many local community organizations. They also owned and operated Phillips Body Shop and a dime store.  She enjoyed trips to various Casinos and trying her luck.  More than anything, her greatest joy in life was her family. Rosa Lee was a loving mother to her sons along with the many children she helped raise.  Her generosity to others will never be forgotten.

 

Rosa Lee is survived by her son Ronnie Phillips and wife, Dianna, of Camdenton, Missouri; her brother Lester Biggs of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Angela Dawn Meyer and husband, Darren, Brad Wesley B. Phillips, Brandon Hugh Phillips, Chad Parker, Cameron Parker, and Camila Rogers;  thirteen great-grandchildren; along with several other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Toby and Josie Biggs; her son, Jackie Leland Phillips; her brothers Wayne, John, James, Elmer, Kenneth, Billy, Frankie and Albert; and her sisters Elizabeth Patton and Hazel Wicks.

 

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.

 

Interment will be at Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery in Camdenton, Missouri.
