Obituary of Judy Lynn Medved

Judy Lynn Medved, age 77, of Montreal, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2018 in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born Judy Lynn Clausen on September 21, 1940 to Christian Edward Clausen and Arlene Nina Still, in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother Christian Edward Clausen II.

She leaves her husband of 37 years Frank J. Medved, two sons William Matthew Horner and Martin Eric Horner and a step daughter Cheri Ann Medved.  Grandchildren Trevor Horner, Jeremy Horner, Peter Horner, Wesley Horner, Christopher Riley, Aaron Helms, Tyler Horner and Abigail Horner, Great grandchildren Karli Horner, Bo Horner, Josie Horner and Zayden Riley.

Judy graduated from University of Kansas with a nursing degree on May 19, 1975. She was employed as a registered nurse both in Kansas City and at the Lake of the Ozarks. She loved nursing and brought joy and comfort to those around her.

On May 31, 1980 she married Frank J. Medved in Kansas City, Kansas where they resided for many years.   They moved to the Lake in 1986.  They enjoyed evening and sunset boat rides from springtime full of blossoms to the changing of the leaves in late fall. 

Judy enjoyed Mother Nature her entire life.  She shared early childhood memories of picking wild blue berries when visiting her grandparents Minnesota lake side cabin with all her cousins.  She shared her love of flowers with grandchildren has they helped plant bulbs and flowers for spring, summer and fall time viewing.  She enjoyed the birds with their chatter and evening singing. Judy had a lifetime love reading.

She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church along with her husband and enjoyed her times as a member of the church choir. Judy enjoyed cantering for Mass at Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church. Judy shared her faith with her family and friends.

Judy shared her passion for sports with everyone. A lifelong Jayhawk basketball fan even after moving into rival Mizzou territory she could often be seen wearing Jayhawk gear. She also carried on the tradition from her father of cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs but did manage to convert from the KC Royals to the Cardinals. I believe she liked to watch winners!

Judy enjoyed eating all types of food.  Ranging from healthy salads and fresh fruits to McDonalds French fries and shakes and the limited time only McRib.  She enjoyed meals at Vista Grande, Wobbly Boots, Pizza Hut, Cozy Café and Ha Ha Tonka to name a few.  She enjoyed eating grilled brats, chicken and pork chops prepared on the front porch grill.

Thanksgiving was a special time for Judy.  Family gathering and feasting on turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, homemade rolls, relish tray and orange fluff salad.

We are thankful for the many good times and memories shared throughout your life.

There will be a Memorial Mass held on February 19, 2018 at 11:00am. It will be at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church (2411 Bagnell Dam Blvd, Lake Ozark, MO 65049). Visitation will begin at 10:00am.
