Obituary of Edward John Manzer
Edward John Manzer, age 92, of Osage Beach, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018. He was born November 8, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to Frank and Emma Manzer.
In 1943 Ed joined the Army Air Corp. and served as a B-25 Bomber Pilot until 1946. After his discharge, he was joined in marriage to Caroline Catherine Ruggeri on January 25, 1947 in St. Louis. Together they had six children, Marlen, Scott, Jeff, Joe, Steve and Vicki, and resided in High Ridge Missouri. In 1960 Ed moved his family to Lake of the Ozarks and partnered with Art Burnau to open one of the first heating and cooling companies at the Lake.
Ed was talented in many facets of the construction field and enjoyed working with his hands and helping neighbors. He also loved the lake and the many activities that it provided. From skiing to sailing to flying, he enjoyed life to the fullest and over the many years that he lived, he captured most if not all on his movie cameras.
Ed is survived by five of his children, Marlen and Jerry Frank of Osage Beach, Scott and Glenda Manzer of Linn Creek, Jeff and Qi Manzer of Osage Beach, Joe and Vicki Manzer of Camdenton, Steve Manzer of the U.S. Virgin Islands, one sister, Betty Ann Burchell of Apple Valley Calif., nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Emma, his wife Carol, two brothers Jim and John, and one daughter Vicki Barrett.
He will be missed by all.
Services with Military Honors will be held Friday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Family will welcome friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Veterans Wall- Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
