Dennis Meyer

Obituary of Dennis John Meyer

Dennis John Meyer, 74, of  Montreal, Missouri passed away peacefully at his home Friday, March 23, 2018 after a lengthy battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Dennis was born March 8, 1944 in Denver, Colorado. He was adopted at the age of 10 by his loving parents John Meyer and Bertha Westhoff Meyer. On June 1, 1991 he married his soulmate Pamela Anne Mielke. The marriage between Dennis and Pamela blended four daughters and three sons.

Dennis worked as a butcher for over 20 years in Colorado before he moved and settled in Missouri. He was a man who had many talents and helped as much to the best of his ability. He loved the outdoors and loved throwing a line into the lake to see what he could catch. He didn't mind if he didn't catch anything because usually where you found him fishing, you would find Pamela reading a book keeping him company. He also loved football, Nascar, and baseball. In the fall you would hear him cheering on the Denver Broncos. Then, once football was over it would not be surprising to hear him cheering on Dale Jr., especially the last time he won the Daytona 500. Finally, when spring would hit he would be yelling "Go Colorado Rockies! Beat those Cardinals!"  He was good for the jokes and could make you laugh almost as quickly as that something that made you cry.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Pamela Meyer of Montreal, Missouri and the blended family of Laura Wiggins (Steve) of Linn Creek, Missouri; Lutrisha Decker (Joe) of Rolla, Missouri; Bret Freeman (Amy) of Ferguson, Missouri; Michelle Roudebush (Andrew) of Canton, Illinois; Rene Noland (Bryce) of Bellevue, Colorado; James Meyer (Amanda) of Springfield, Missouri; and Mike Meyer (Lori) of Ellington, Missouri. Dennis is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren along with his beloved dogs Little Joe and Buddy.
