Obituary of Robert David Uthoff, Sr.
Robert David Uthoff, Sr., age 95, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018.
“Bob” was born July 18, 1922 in St. Louis to the late Edwin and Jean (Auld) Uthoff. After graduating from Cleveland High School, he joined the US Army during World War II and was honorably discharged after receiving a Purple Heart. He earned an electrical engineering degree from Washington University in St. Louis. In 1947 he married Virginia Whissell who preceded him in death in 2016. He lived most of his life in St. Louis, spending time in West Palm Beach, FL, and Lake of the Ozarks before retiring to Osage Beach.
Bob is survived by his daughter Patricia Pemberton (William), Osage Beach, Missouri; son Robert Uthoff, Jr. (Patricia), Halfway, Missouri; two grandsons Joshua Pemberton (Rebecca), Columbia, Missouri; and Caleb Pemberton (Pilar), Columbia, Missouri; a step granddaughter Leslie Venezio, Halfway, Missouri; five great-grandchildren Evie Pemberton, Alex Pemberton, Lola Pemberton, Alissa Pemberton, Penelope Pemberton all of Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Edwin Uthoff and his sister Jean Baier.
Bob was an exemplar of hard work and love of family. He founded a manufacturing representative company and served as its president for more than 20 years. He was proud not only of his own accomplishments, but also those of his children and grandchildren. In retirement he followed his passions of golf and fishing.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Presbyterian Church in Osage Beach.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Lake Presbyterian Church or the Harry S. Truman Veteran’s Hospital.
