Obituary of "Vince" William DeVos III

"Vince" William DeVos III of Linn Creek, Missouri completed this part of life and went to live with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 10, 2018 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

 

Vince was born July 25, 1971 in Warrensburg, Missouri to Vincent W. DeVos Jr. and Carolyn Dorris (Merritt). He was raised by and looked up to his Father "Big Papa D" Jim Dorris.  He spent most of his growing up years in Lebanon, Missouri. On  October 23, 2013, Vince met his soulmate, Sabrina DeVos (Parlin); together they enjoyed over 5 wonderful and fun filled years of life.

 

Vince went to Lebanon High School where he competed in wrestling and earned a varsity letter and rocked his mullet.  He then went on to attend mortuary school in Dallas, Texas.  He later returned to Lake of the Ozarks to be close to family and friends.

 

Vince dedicated most of his career in the boating industry at Lake of the Ozarks. He worked for Marine Max, formerly known as Arrowhead Marina, for 15 years. He also assisted starting and managing several businesses. During the last 5 years of his life, he worked doing his favorite job with his favorite people at HMI Fireplace Shop as their sales associate.

 

Vince loved his family, especially his kids, who adored and worshipped him.  He was a great father and mentor.

 

He was committed to God and one of his favorite scriptures was:  "My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry."  James 1:19 (NIV)

 

Vince enjoyed boating, fishing, listening to music, DIY projects, and working outside with family.  He also enjoyed motorcycles and riding the 4 wheeler, outdoor games, cards and board games, cooking, traveling and swimming.

 

Vince is survived by his wife Sabrina, sons Chance and Bryce, daughter Madison, parents Jim and Carolyn Dorris, Vincent and Kathy DeVos, brothers Bo (Betty), David and Joe (Kim), maternal grandparents George and Beverly Merritt, aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Grace and Vincent DeVos.

 

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.
