Jessie Doyle Parker, age 86, of Nixa, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 28, 2018 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Doyle was born May 5, 1932, the second oldest of eight children to John Franklin Parker and Betha (Williams) Parker in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. As a young child, Doyle moved frequently with his family from Texas to Oklahoma and to Arkansas.
Doyle enlisted with the United States Marine Corps March 6, 1951, where he proudly served over 8 years with the Military Police and as a Mess Sergeant. While serving in the military, he met another serviceman who asked Doyle to correspond with his sister by letter. Doyle began writing letters to Evelyn Brown and six months later they met for the first time in person, and were married the next day, September 4, 1953 in Wise, Virginia. They were happily married for 62 years.
Doyle worked throughout the years in car sales. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved studying God’s Word. He was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed Louis L’Amar Western Novels of which he had an impressive collection. Doyle took pleasure in talking to people and always had a quick joke or two ready to tell. He loved spending time with his family and spent countless hours playing Dominoes with family and friends.
