Obituary of David Richard Vansyoc
David Richard "Dave" Vansyoc, age 59, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Dave was born May 5, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Richard and Janet (Hagan) Vansyoc. As a young child, Dave traveled with his family to Colorado where his father was called to preach. They lived in several towns throughout the state and were living in Florence, Colorado when Dave graduated from Florence High School. After graduating, Dave joined a band where he played drums and traveled to various locations. He went on to attend SIUE in Edwardsville, Illinois and shortly thereafter began working for Ameren UE in St. Louis.
While attending SIUE, Dave met the love of his life at First Baptist Church in Granite City, Illinois, and on August 22, 1980, he was united in marriage to Marcie L. Little. Dave and Marcie moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1986 where Dave continued working for Ameren UE. His career with Ameren UE spanned the length of 39 years, the last several years of which he was a hydro-plant operator. His dedication and work ethic were second to none. When Dave wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed the occasional boating, fishing, golfing and snowskiing when possible. He also enjoyed muscle cars and travelling. But more than anything, Dave loved being with his family and friends. He loved cooking out, regardless of the weather, and enjoyed having a good time with the people he loved most. He loved his entire family dearly, including his in-laws, and in recent years, his greatest joy was being a grand-dad to his two favorite little people, Povielle and Coco.
Dave was baptized and saved earlier in his life and enjoyed listening to praise and worship music. He was a talented musician and had played drums with the praise teams for several area churches. Dave loved the Lord and had faithfully served Him throughout his life in various capacities. He was a kind person, always willing to listen, and loved conversing with people. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend who was always ready to help others in need. He is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior for all eternity.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Marcie, of the home; his sons, Andrew Vansyoc of Gladstone, Missouri and Ryan Vansyoc of Camdenton, Missouri; his mother Janet Vansyoc of Leesburg, Florida; his brothers Ronald Vansyoc of Leesburg, Florida and Kurtis Vansyoc and wife, Kelly, of Osage Beach, Missouri; his sister Janice Davis of Lakeside, California; and his grandchildren, Povielle and Coco.
Dave also leaves behind his mother-in-law Betty Homyer; his sisters-in-law, Vickie and husband Sonnie and Tracie and husband Tom; his brother-in-law Eric and wife Jan; his nieces, Mia, Randie, Ericka, Katherine and Deidre' ; his nephews Buddy, Joseph, Seth, Adam, Levi, Josh, and Derek; his great niece Madelynn and great-nephews Henry and Elliott; along with numerous other relatives and many friends.
