Obituary of Cordelia Catherine Willis

Cordelia Catherine Willis, "Babe",  age 87, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Kansas City Hospice House in North  Kansas City, Missouri.

Catherine was born January 7, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was the daughter of William and Ruby (Rooffener) Donnelly.

On May 27, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri, Catherine was united in marriage to Frank Willis of Macks Creek, MO. They had shared 57 years of marriage together at the time of his death, June 1, 2006.  They made their home in Farley, MO for many years.  

In 1950, the Lord saved her soul at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Camden County where she joined the church and was baptized.  She spent many years as a member at Jericho Missionary Baptist Church in Independence, MO until her death.  She filled her role as a deacon’s wife.  

Catherine enjoyed being a homemaker and was a loving and devoted wife.  She was also a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children and their families.  She loved her family more than anything and will be sorely missed by them.

She is survived by her son, Ed Willis and wife, Rusanne, of Platte City, Missouri; daughter Cindy DeLozier and husband, Kevin, of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren,  Eddie Willis and wife Maria, Kelli Hendee and husband Nate, Holly Henderson and husband Matt , and Amber DeLozier;  and thirteen great grandchildren;  and one sister, Barbara Skinner and husband, Tommy, of Butler, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Ruby Donnelly; husband Frank Willis; her daughter Catherine Willis Manley;  grandson Brian Willis; and brothers, Bill Donnelly and Bud Donnelly.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at  Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Macks Creek, Missouri on Monday, July 2, 2018.  The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Macks Creek, Missouri.

Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek, Missouri.
