Obituary of Joseph A. Menzel

Joseph A. Menzel, age 52, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Joe was born February 19, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of William and Mary (Tardiff) Menzel.

Joe owned and operated his own asphalt company.  In addition, he worked as a cook for Captain Ron’s and drove trucks for several area companies.   Joe enjoyed growing plants and tending to his fish aquarium.  He also loved living at the lake and all the beauty and activities that surround it.  His greatest joy in life however was his family.  Joe loved taking Jodah and Anthony out every morning to feed the birds and squirrels that visited their home.

Joe is survived by his fiancé Kelly Jones of the home; his sons Jasper Menzel of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, William Joseph Menzel of St. Louis, Missouri and Joshua Michael Menzel of Sedalia, Missouri; his daughter Jody Menzel of St. Clair, Missouri; his mother Mary Menzel; his brother William Menzel of Wentzville, Missouri; and his 10 beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father William Menzel; his daughter Jamie Dever; and one brother Philip Menzel.

Services will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 4:00-7:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.
