Obituary of Georgia H. Mattenlee

Georgia H. Mattenlee, age 81, of Laurie, Missouri passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri.

Georgia was born March 3, 1937 in Independence, Missouri. She was the daughter of Roy and Evelyn (Boyes) Stephens.

On May 30, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to F. Douglas Mattenlee. Together they shared over 61 years of marriage.

Georgia was a member of the Lady Elks Auxiliary at the Elks Lodge in Laurie, Missouri and the PEO Sorority Chapter MZ of Osage Beach. She was also part of the Lake of The Ozarks Woodcarvers Organization. Georgia was very active in her home church Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, Missouri. Her greatest love in life was spending time with her family and everyone who knew her was touched by her smile.

Georgia is survived by her husband F. Douglas; two daughters, Beth Holder and husband Michael of Kansas City, Missouri and Lora Cunningham of Versailles, Missouri; two brothers, Wallace Stephens and wife Elizabeth of Moore, Oklahoma and John Stephens and wife Patricia of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; one sister, Sandra McKim of Greenview, Missouri; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Evelyn Stephens and sister, Carol Admire.

The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00-3:00pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, Missouri. 

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, July 18, at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church of Laurie, MO or PEO Sorority Chapter MZ of Osage Beach.
