Obituary of Ryan David McKinney

Ryan David McKinney, age 28, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home.

 

Ryan was born May 3, 1990 in Springfield, Missouri. He was the oldest son of David and Nancy (Edwards) McKinney. 

 

Ryan grew up in the lake area.  He attended grades K-12 in the Camdenton school district where he graduated with the class of 2008. After graduating high school, Ryan worked for Edwards Products, Cain’s Painting and as official dog walker of Bobby McGee.  In his spare time, Ryan created his own music under the Muffin Lad brand.  He enjoyed hiking at Ha Ha Tonka, playing disc golf and collecting arrowheads and vinyl records.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.   He loved to cook and shoot fireworks.  Ryan planned year round for the annual McKinney Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza. Ryan was a member of First Baptist Church of Camdenton.

 

Ryan is survived by his mother Nancy McKinney of Roach, Missouri; his father and step mother, David and Mary Jo McKinney of Baxter Springs, Kansas; his brothers Nathan McKinney of Roach, Missouri and Sam McKinney and fiance' Kaylee Robertson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his special friend Melina Dale and her daughter Henley, of Stover, Missouri; his maternal grandmother Mary Lou Edwards of Camdenton, Missouri; his paternal grandparents Earl and Ethel McKinney of Taylorville, Illinois; his aunts and uncles, Roma and Steve France of Osage Beach, Missouri, Marsha and Jim Blount of Waynesville, Missouri, John and Toni Edwards of Macks Creek, Missouri and Shelley and Walt Pollard of Iberia, Missouri; along with numerous other relatives and many friends.

 

Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Edwards.

 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.  Services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 18 at the funeral home.

 

Interment will be at Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery in Camdenton, Missouri.

 

In honor of Ryan’s memory, the family suggests making donations to the Dogwood Animal Shelter or an animal rescue organization of your choice.
