Obituary of David L. Covington

David L. Covington, age 78, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Harry S Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

David was born December 19, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas.  He was the son of Joseph L. and Eva Ruth (Conver) Covington.

On February 5, 1966 he was united in marriage to Ellen Covington and together they have shared over 52 years as husband and wife.

David served his country proudly in the United States Navy and after his honorable discharge was self-employed as an electrician.

David is survived by his loving wife, Ellen of the home; his son Douglas Fields and fiance' Mary Kay of Arcadia, Florida; his daughter Eva Cannon of Lake Ozark, Missouri;  his brother Donald Covington and wife, Pat of Kansas; his sisters Dixie Knoche of Holden, Missouri, Betty Wright of Eldon, Missouri, and Rosemary Snyder, and husband, Chuck of Oklahoma; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Eva Covington; and his brothers Joseph and James.

Services will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, July 16, 2018 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00 am-12:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.

Interment with full military honors will be at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett, Missouri.
