Obituary of Dallas J. Owens
Dallas J. Owens, age 71, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away with his family by his side at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, on Monday, August 20, 2018.
Dallas was born on April 18, 1947 in Sydney, Australia. He was the son of Eddie and Kathleen May (Cusack) Margossian. He is the first of three sons, Dallas, Edward (Ed), and Larry Owens.
Dallas married Glenda; together they had a son Patrick Owens. Dallas married Thip; together they had three daughters, Dena, Jessica and Kristina.
Dallas, Ed, and Larry were raised in Nodaway County, Missouri by their Aunt Velma (Owens) Hartman and Uncle Ernest (Tuffy) Hartman. He joined the army when he was 16 years old with the permission of his father, a war hero, whom he looked up to. Dallas is a Vietnam war veteran and served in the National Guard after the war. After returning from Vietnam, Dallas became an electrician. After working at the St. Joseph Light and Power, Dallas eventually came to work overseas for the Aramco Oil Company in Saudi Arabia as an electrical engineer for 22 years. When Dallas retired from Aramco, he moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed boating and fishing. Dallas was a Mustang enthusiast, he loved driving his Bullitt Mustang and going to Mustang car shows. Dallas had a passion for classic cars. He also loved his Hogs, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and dreamed of riding around the country. Dallas loved to travel to Europe and Asia. He had a kind heart and loved animals.
Dallas was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Everyone who met him loved him because he was kind and friendly. He battled kidney failure and cancer. He never wanted his family and friends to worry and always wanted people to live their lives to the fullest.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 34 years, Thip (Philkulpuang) Owens, of Osage Beach; his son Patrick and grandchild Shay; son Kriangsak and grandchild Kaiden; daughter Dena and son-in-law Ryan and two grandchildren Xavier and Jasmine; daughter Jessica; daughter Kristina; brother Edward and sister-in-law Gail and nieces Gina and Jeny and grandnieces Alexis, Madelyn and great grandniece Stella Rose; brother Larry and nieces Andrea and Noel and nephew Casey and grandniece Ivy and grandnephews Lucas and Hunter.
Dallas was preceded in death by his father Eddie Owens and mother Kathleen May (Cusack) Margossian; Aunt Velma (Owens) Hartman and Uncle Ernest (Tuffy) Hartman.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri.
