Obituary of Michael William Scott Jr

Michael William Scott, Jr, age 45, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 while riding his Harley in Esmaralda County, Nevada.

Mike Jr  was born April 3, 1973, the eldest son of Michael William Sr and Mary Elizabeth (Baxter) Scott at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Mike Jr  and his siblings grew up traveling to various locations in the US and abroad with their career military dad, Michael W. Scott Sr.  When Mike Sr retired from the army, the family again found themselves moving, as Mike Sr. managed several Drury Hotel locations in the St. Louis area.  They finally settled in southeast Missouri with Drury Corporate Headquarters in Jackson / Cape Girardeau.

Mike  worked as superintendant of construction and traveled  the US supervising updates and changes to Wal-Mart buildings throughout the country.  He was in Nevada closing down his latest job, at the time of his death.  When Mike was back home in Missouri, he enjoyed riding his Harley or spending time outdoors hunting.   He was a member of the Southeast Missouri HOG club, in Scott City, Missouri.

Mike and  Kim Scott were married September 27, 2018.  In addition to his wife, Kim, Mike is survived by   his children, Brandon Scott and wife,  Lori, of Perryville, Missouri and Cassidie Svhela and husband, Jeramy, of Oak Ridge, Missouri; along with  his grandchildren, Eli Scott and Josie Svhela.  Also surviving are his step-daughters, Haylie Clover and Elizabeth Kennedy, both of Jackson, Missouri; his brothers Chris Scott and wife Leighann and James Scott; his sisters, Cheri Foster and husband, Timothy, NiJeatte Stout and husband James David, and Katreen Scott;  along with a large extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mike Scott Sr ( August  14, 2018) and Mary Scott (July 30, 2017).

A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:30-8:30 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Lawless Harley Davidson, 2700 E. Outer Rd, Scott City, MO 63780  Pastor Darren DeLoach will speak at 7:00 pm.
