Donald W. Budke, age 95 of Osage Beach, Missouri, formerly of Glendale, California, passed away peacefully to be with Christ, with his family by his side, on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Don was born in Los Angeles, California on October 24, 1923.  Growing up during the Great Depression gave Don an unwavering determination to work hard in every aspect of life.  He loved his country and served in the Air Force as a B24 pilot in World War II and the Korean War, retiring as a Captain.   After serving his country, he worked for AT&T and retired after 37 years.  Don and his late wife, Joan, moved to Osage Beach, Missouri in 1997 where they were active in their church community and had many wonderful friends.  Don served his neighborhood association as a Board member and Treasurer for many years.  Don was truly one of the best from the greatest generation.  He was a kind, loyal, loving, and prayerful man.

For 53 years, Don was the dedicated husband of Joan K. Budke, who preceded him in death.  He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and is survived by his children, Susan (Mike) Ihli of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Barbara (George) Grimes of St. Louis, Missouri and David (Jeanne) Budke of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren, Zach and Matt Ihli, Sarah (Brian) Stair, Jake and Joe Grimes, and Kaitlyn, Daniel, and Will Budke; and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Aubrey Stair.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law Bud Goehri.
