Obituary of Stephen Patrick Griffin

Stephen Patrick Griffin, age 71, of Gravois Mills, Missouri passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his home.

Stephen was born on October 7, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Stephen and Mary (Connelly) Griffin.

On February 13, 1971 in Kirkwood, Missouri, Stephen was united in marriage to Mary Croce. They shared over 47 years of marriage.

Stephen truly enjoyed working as a broker of fine wines & spirits and was dedicated to the trade.  He was an avid football fan and played in both high school and at the college level at Colorado State University. Stephen enjoyed travelling whenever he could.  More than anything, Stephen loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Stephen attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife Mary of the home; his sons Peter Griffin and wife Monica of Shanghai, China; Owen Griffin and wife Amy of Kansas City, Kansas; his daughter Keelin Friedman and husband Andrew of Boston, Massachusetts; his brother Martin Griffin and wife Linda of Amity, New York; his sisters Patricia Farrell of New Jersey and Margaret Espoito and husband Jim of Howard Beach, New York; and 5 1\2 grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Mary (Connelly) Griffin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Laurie, Missouri. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
